The Springfield Project is looking for a new Trustee to join our Board

The Springfield Project is an award-winning Christian charity in Sparkhill, Birmingham that has operated for over 30 years showing God’s love in our community through practical service and action for families in one of the poorest areas in the UK. We help over 3,000 people each year and have exciting plans for the future.

Our well-functioning board is in a positive position and is now looking for the right person to join as a new trustee. We welcome applicants who can support our continuous development with skills around law, communications and marketing, and/or strategic planning. We would particularly welcome applicants from the Springfield community or those who reflect the community of the area. This is a voluntary role.

To express an interest in becoming a trustee, or to find out more, please contact our CEO, Sarah Robbins on [email protected].

The Springfield Project is a safe and welcoming space where people from diverse backgrounds in our community can meet and receive support.

At our School Readiness Stay and Play session last At our School Readiness Stay and Play session last week, during National Parks Week, we raised awareness of the importance of exploring and enjoying Britain’s natural environments. 🌲🌱🌴🪴

We took our families and children to our local park 🏞️, encouraging everyone to get active outdoors. Through Active Azra, families were supported to walk together and “keep their belly buttons moving” while exploring their local area.

We also promoted healthy habits by bringing along water and veg snacks for the journey, reminding families to keep snacks simple with a maximum of two snacks during longer walks, which were cucumber and Carrot sticks with Hummus.
It was a lovely opportunity for families to enjoy nature, stay active, and build positive routines around physical activity and healthy eating.

✨ Our Easter Playscheme Highlights ✨ What an amaz ✨ Our Easter Playscheme Highlights ✨

What an amazing time we had — our Easter playscheme was a huge success! 🎉

The children loved exploring the outdoors, getting creative in our activity sessions, and powering up the smoothie bike 🚲🍓 We also had some great conversations about healthy eating and the importance of staying active.

Most importantly, it was wonderful to see so many new friendships blossom along the way 💛

Thank you to everyone who made it so special — we can’t wait for the next one! ✨

✨ Startwell Stay and Play Startwell session last M ✨ Startwell Stay and Play Startwell session last Monday ✨

🌱 Our tiny explorers, aged 10 months to 2 years, had a lovley time at Startwell Stay & Play session, where children and families jumped into a variety of #Sammy skills activities (fine and gross motor skills).

With wonderful support from their parents, the children even practiced their culinary techniques by using safety knives to slice cucumbers—a great start to a skill we’ll keep practicing! To keep the momentum going, everyone was sent home with play dough, a recipe on how to make it and a Sammy Skills fact sheet , ensuring the hand-strengthening fun and developmental progress continue a home.
