Nurseries

Nurseries The Springfield Project

About our nurseries

We understand that young children learn through play. Our activities are based on professional research into the learning needs of young children. During each session your child will have the opportunity to enjoy lots of stimulating and exciting play activities, develop a wide range of pre-school skills and have great fun at the same time!

Nurseries The Springfield Project

We provide a welcoming and friendly environment for children and their families. The nurseries are well resourced with qualified staff and appropriate equipment to provide a quality setting in which we can work alongside your child to develop their potential.

Apply for a place

A government-funded 2-year-old place is available for families in England who receive some forms of support.

The eligibility criteria can be found on this website:

https://www.gov.uk/help-with-childcare-costs/free-childcare-2-year-olds

If parents are working and do not meet the above criteria, they may be eligible for the working entitlement for 2 year olds. You can find information in the working entitlement section.

Children aged 3 and over are eligible for 15 hours of free childcare per week, which we provide as morning or afternoon sessions, Monday to Friday. This is funded by the Government. Children must attend regularly otherwise your place may be allocated to someone else.

  • Eligibility for 30 hours: From September 2025, eligible working parents can access up to 30 hours of funded childcare for children aged 9 months and older until they start school.  You must be a working parent and meet the eligibility criteria set by the government.  Parents can apply for working entitlement and set up a childcare account to access the funded hours.
  • For more detailed information, you can refer to the official government resources or Birmingham City Council’s website.

We also are offer places for families who do not qualify for any form of funding, for £125 per week. This fee includes 15 hours of care, which may be scheduled as either five mornings or five afternoons.

We ask all families to attend regularly, and to let nursery know if they will not be able to attend, Additionally, if a parent does not contact the nursery and all emergency contacts are unreachable, the nursery will implement its safeguarding policy.

We had the best time on our trip to Ash End Children's Farm in Tamworth!

We got to stroke newborn chicks, help the farmers feed the animals and collected freshly hatched eggs to bring home for our tea! 🐷🐑🐐🐎🧑‍🌾🐣

Children’s Book Week celebrates the joy of reading and highlights how important it is for children’s development.

At our School Readiness Stay and Play sessions, we brought stories to life using our active story sheets, combining storytelling with fun physical movements alongside Sammy Skills.

It’s a great way to support learning, build confidence, and show that reading for pleasure can be active, engaging, and fun!

Let’s take a look at all the exciting activities f Let’s take a look at all the exciting activities from our Mini Springers Nursery ✨ @mini_springers

Our Sunflower children have been learning about the life cycles of butterflies. They have enjoyed watching our caterpillars turn into cocoons, and every day they eagerly check to see if our butterflies have emerged yet!🦋

Also, last week we started reading the story " Owl Babies, " and we focused on learning about different sizes of the owls and objects that were small, medium and big.🦉

✨ Let’s see what was on at our School Readiness St ✨ Let’s see what was on at our School Readiness Stay and Play session! Startwell

International Dance Day was a wonderful opportunity to explore different musical genres with the children. They responded so well to a variety of rhythms, beats, and styles, making it a fun and engaging way to support their development. Music and movement supported their physical skills while also encouraging self-expression, creativity, and emotional well-being.

During our school readiness stay-and-play session, we linked in 180 Katie, encouraging the children to get their bodies moving, raise their heart rates, and feel their hearts go “boom boom boom!”

It was also a great reminder that children need 180 minutes of physical activity each day. For those aged 3–5, this includes at least 60 minutes of high-intensity activity alongside 120 minutes of low- to moderate-intensity movement.
