Youth Programme

Our youth programme is growing, shaped by young people and focused on opportunity, voice and community pride.

In Spring 2024, we worked with a group of Year 12 students from Moseley School to run a Youth Community Research project. They interviewed their peers about what it’s like growing up in Sparkhill, what they enjoy, what feels difficult, and what opportunities they want. They presented their findings at Birmingham Council House, and their insights are helping us build a youth offer that genuinely fits young people’s lives.

Youth Volunteering (Ages 14+)

Youth Programme The Springfield Project

Volunteering is a great way to build experience, meet other young people and make a difference locally. If you are working towards a DofE Award, an application to further education or employment this is the perfect opportunity for you. Opportunities include helping at holiday playschemes, events and after-school clubs.

Youth Advisory Board

Youth Programme The Springfield Project

Our Youth Advisory Board is a group of passionate young people aged 14 – 18 who want to have a real say in shaping activities, projects and decisions that affect children and young people in Sparkhill.

Members work together in a supportive, youth-led space to share ideas, discuss local issues and help guide the direction of our work. We value young people’s lived experiences and it is very important that they are given a platform to influence and make positive change in their community.

Young people involved also have opportunities to support events, take part in research or consultation, funding applications, represent young people’s views, and help shape new ideas for the future.
