Volunteer With Us 

Join our team of volunteers and make a real difference in your community. At the Springfield Project, you’ll support children and families while gaining valuable, rewarding experience. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds, faiths, and abilities.

Volunteer Roles Include: 
• Supporting Seedlings Stay & Play sessions 
• Helping at our Place of Welcome 
• Assisting in nurseries and Early Years sessions 
• Supporting English classes 
• Admin tasks and flyer design 
• Helping with the cooking group 
• Welcoming visitors 
• Cleaning and caring for the church building

Requirements 
All volunteering roles are subject to:

  • An enhanced DBS check and overseas checks if necessary.
  • Verification of identity
  • References-one of which should be a professional reference(for example-current or previous employer, education establishment, or training provider)
  • Details of any qualifications and employment history
  • Completion of safeguarding training before starting.
  • All prospective volunteers will be required to complete a criminal self-disclosure form ahead of the interview

The Springfield Project is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. All staff, volunteers, and partners are expected to share this commitment.

Student Placements 
Available only through direct arrangements with schools or colleges. Parents of Under-18s should contact Samina to explore opportunities. 

Corporate Volunteering 
We offer half-day or full-day team volunteering. Contact Samina to find out more.

At School Readiness Stay and Play, we celebrated N At School Readiness Stay and Play, we celebrated National Writing Day by encouraging children to develop their Sammy Skills through a variety of fun, hands-on mark-making activities. ✍️✍ Startwell 

Children explored early writing in creative ways using glue sticks and sand to make marks. These sensory experiences help to build the fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, and confidence needed for future writing.

Learning through play is a fantastic way to support children's early literacy while making it fun and engaging!

We had the best time at our final Startwell Stay & Play session! 🎉 From pass the parcel, parachute games to building with blocks,  listening to nursery rhymes and playing with different sized balls. High five to our amazing children who proudly made their own sandwiches, with a choice of cheese or cucumber and had mixed berries with yogurt.
