Place of Welcome

About Place of Welcome
“Place of Welcome” is the flagship of our Community Services. Typically attended by 40 people each week, it is a much valued resource in the Sparkhill community for local people to come together for friendship, food and social activities including cooking, knitting, crochet, board games and pool.

Place of Welcome The Springfield Project

Place of Welcome The Springfield Project

Place of Welcome is held every Thursday during term time, 1-3pm at The Springfield Centre, Springfield Road, Moseley, Birmingham, B13 9NY.

We look forward to seeing you for free hot food and drinks, and friendly conversation. All welcome!

We are currently offering a free legal advice drop-in service at the Place of Welcome provided by Central England Law Centre. CELC uses its knowledge and legal expertise in social welfare law to protect the rights of those in need. Contact us on 0121 777 2722 or email [email protected] with any questions.

Place of Welcome The Springfield Project

The cooking group meets each Thursday at 12pm to prepare and cook the hot meal together. If you would like to join this friendly group, then come to the Springfield Centre at 12pm. Ingredients are provided and no experience is necessary. We welcome your ideas for recipes to try – we have enjoyed inspiring meals from all over the world.

We are proud to be a part of the national Warm Welcome scheme. During the winter months, we want to ensure everyone in Sparkhill has an open invitation to a warm and welcoming space so they can connect with others, get the support they need and feel part of their local community.

At Mini Springers, Morgan from the REP theatre ca At Mini Springers, Morgan from the REP theatre came to give our Sunflower children a performance of "The Lion Inside" 🦁✨ Birmingham Rep

The session was a mix of drama and listening, and the children were encouraged to be creative and energetic.

The purpose of the project is to help support with transitions to school, as some of the children will receive similar drama sessions in Sept in their new schools!
Morgan will visit again in two weeks to read us the story "Harold and The Purple Crayon". We cannot wait to see her again 💚
