Seedlings Stay & Play

18th September 2023

Seedlings Stay & Play The Springfield Project

Due to building work at St Christopher’s Church, Seedlings Stay & Play will be starting back on Tuesday 19 September and will temporarily be held at an alternative venue at St John’s House, 10 Court Road, B11 4LX. A big thank you to the Seedlings leaders who are working hard to get the space ready for our Seedlings families! Contact the Springfield Centre on 0121 777 2722 or email [email protected] with any questions.

The Springfield Project is a safe and welcoming space where people from diverse backgrounds in our community can meet and receive support.

✨ Let’s see what was on at our School Readiness St ✨ Let’s see what was on at our School Readiness Stay and Play session! Startwell

International Dance Day was a wonderful opportunity to explore different musical genres with the children. They responded so well to a variety of rhythms, beats, and styles, making it a fun and engaging way to support their development. Music and movement supported their physical skills while also encouraging self-expression, creativity, and emotional well-being.

During our school readiness stay-and-play session, we linked in 180 Katie, encouraging the children to get their bodies moving, raise their heart rates, and feel their hearts go “boom boom boom!”

It was also a great reminder that children need 180 minutes of physical activity each day. For those aged 3–5, this includes at least 60 minutes of high-intensity activity alongside 120 minutes of low- to moderate-intensity movement.

⭐ Some of the lovely highlights from our Startwell ⭐ Some of the lovely highlights from our Startwell Stay and Play session ⭐

During our Startwell Stay and Play session, parents dived into a helpful workshop on navigating fussy eating and promoting healthy habits.

Meanwhile, the children were busy exploring a variety of fun activities! From developing fine motor skills with fruit threading and playing veggie hide-and-seek to discovering new stories in books, the children were beginning to copy new words and actions while building their confidence through play.

We even had a special focus on #MickyMeSize to help families understand healthy portion sizes!
