Springfield Food Pantry is moving!
From Monday 19 February 2024, we will have a new home at Narthex, St John’s Church Hall, St Johns Road, Sparkhill, B11 4RG. Narthex is opposite Durham Road and next to Mighty Q.
The last Food Pantry at St Edmund’s Church will take place on Monday 12 February and after that we will be running at Narthex at the usual time: every Monday, 11am to 2.30pm.
We are grateful to St Edmund’s Church for hosting us for the past year and excited for our transfer to Narthex in 2024. For more information call us on 0121 777 2722 or Narthex on 0121 753 1959.
The Springfield Food Pantry offers fresh and nutritious food for an affordable weekly membership fee, whilst making good use of quality food which would otherwise go to waste. The Food Pantry is a community-led scheme open to anyone to join, not just those in crisis. With rising food costs, the Pantry offers choice and dignity during tough times.
You can become a member of The Springfield Food Pantry for a weekly subscription of just £5. For this you get to choose at least 10 items of food worth about £15, including fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and store cupboard favourites.
Members can also get involved in volunteering and training, placing local people at the heart of decision-making about food.
To join, you can complete a form online or drop in to see us on Mondays at St Edmund’s Church.
We are proud that Springfield Food Pantry is part of the National Warm Space network. During the winter months, we want to ensure everyone in Sparkhill has an open invitation to a warm and welcoming space so they can connect with others, get the support they need and feel part of their local community. Lots of people come for the affordable food, but stay for a hot drink and a friendly chat in our warm space.
Springfield Food Pantry is part of the Your local Pantry franchise.
