These questions and answers will help explain who we are and what we do. You can also look at the About Us Link at the top of the page

If you have any suggestions for information that could be added here, we would like to hear from you
How are we different?
Because we want parents and local communities to get directly involved in running their local centres. It’s your chance to tell the government what you need to make life better for you and your children.

The Springfield Project is not your average Children's Centre.  Sixty seven Children's Centres are being built across Birmingham, but The Springfield Project:

  • is the only faith-based Children's Centre in Birmingham
  • has a vision to engage as a faith-based project with other faith groups, in particular the majority Muslim community
  • has become trusted in our local area so that large numbers from different cultural and faith communities attend and make use of our services and support
  • has a very strong volunteer base, i.e. a 100% volunteer led play & stay
  • is pioneering interfaith youth activities in partnership nationally with Faith to Faith, Scripture Union, the Christian Muslim Forum, the Church of England, and locally with schools, mosques and the Springfield Neighbourhood Forum.

Is it just for Parents and Carers?
No. Childminders, Playgroups, Resident Associations and others are all welcome to have their say. We want everybody who has an interest in families with young children to become involved.

What is a Children's Centre?
A Children's Centre is a one-stop-shop where children and families can access services that will help them to learn and grow.
