Get Involved

The Springfield Project was set up by St Christopher's Church to serve the community.  It has been through prayer that The Springfield Project has grown and become a thriving and well-used service provider.

“At once the spirit sent him out into the wilderness, and he was in the wilderness forty days,
eing tempted by Satan. He was with the wild animals, and the angels attended him.”
Mark 1: 12-13

Current prayer points include:

We have just entered the season of Lent, a time to repent ad reflect, a time to refocus our priorities as we prepare for Christ’s passion in the sure and certain hope of the resurrection.
  • We ask for forgiveness: for all the times when the Project has not served your purpose as fully as we might have done: for the things where we are aware we have fallen short, and those things which we haven’t even realised we could have done differently.
  • We ask for courage: surrounded by temptations, we pray for strength and courage to avoid all those things which distract us from the core of our calling, to share God’s love with our community.
  • We ask for guidance: in this season of recalling our commitment to place God at the centre of each choice we make, we invite God into the small day-to-day choices we make, and the big decisions about the future direction of the project.
  • We ask for the ministry of angels: Just as Jesus in the desert was attended by angels, messengers of God, we pray that we may experience the love and support of all who are upholding us in God’s name, and that we may serve that role for others.
And Also: This week included World Book Day! Give thanks for the opportunities to share a love of books and reading with our children, families and service users: maybe pause to say a special prayer for those involved in the Neighbour Scheme “reading for wellbeing” sessions and for all the literacy work that happens in our Mini Springers nursery.
God of Love,
You who breathed the spirit of life within me,
Renew in me the light and life you have entrusted to me.
Touch me and make me whole again,
Enabling me to give of myself in the service of others,
To reflect in my life
your suffering and your glory.
